Shoplifting Turns into Kidnapping in South Houston

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division need the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for a robbery (kidnapping).

On Sunday, June 4, 2017 at around 4:20 PM, an unknown black male walked into the Valero, located at 2800 Reed Road, in Houston, Texas. The suspect walked over to the area where the beer was and picked up a case of Budweiser and Bud Light.  The suspect then quickly ran out of the store without making any attempts to pay for the beer. The store manager observed what had just occurred and chased the suspect into his vehicle in an attempt to stop the suspect from leaving. As the complainant was in the backseat, the driver of the vehicle drove off, while the complainant was still inside. The complainant was eventually able to free himself from the suspect vehicle a few blocks away. HPD case #1189264-17
