Family Visiting Houston Robbed in Hotel Parking Lot


Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division need the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for an aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

On Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 9:15 pm, the complainant was in the parking lot at the Red Roof Inn, located at 11999 East Freeway, in Houston, Texas. The complainant is from Oklahoma and was staying the night along with his wife and child. As the complainant was hooking up his U-Haul Trailer to his truck, a gray Nissan or Chevrolet sedan pulled up next to his vehicle. An unknown black male exited the vehicle, pointed a handgun at the complainant and demanded his wallet. The complainant informed the suspect that his wallet was in his room, so the suspect forced the complainant to walk to his room while he followed and pointing the gun at him. The complainant knocked on the door, at which time his wife opened the door and suspect forced the complainant into the room. The complainant complied with the suspect’s demands and handed him his wallet. The suspect then walked out of the room and fled in his vehicle. HPD case #1166999-18

Suspect description: Black male, 25 to 35 years old, 6’1 to 6’3, 285 to 310 pounds and dark complexion.
