On Friday, July 17, 2026, at around 12:15pm, the complainant was at a carwash, located at the 10800 Block of Sabo Rd, in Houston, Texas. On Friday, July 17, 2026, at around 12:15pm, the complainant was at a carwash, located at the 10800 Block of Sabo Rd, in Houston, Texas. The Complainant had just pulled into a stall and started rinsing his vehicle when the complainant was approached by a young black male wearing a purple hoodie and shorts. The unknown suspect pointed a weapon at the complainant and demanded money. The complainant did not have any money on him, so the complainant reached for the driver's door to open the door and get his wallet, which was inside the vehicle. An altercation ensued between the suspect and the complainant, and then the suspect fled on foot from the scene. A Harris County Pct. 2 Deputy Constable heard the altercation from across the street and observed the suspect running from the scene. The Deputy followed the suspect who was running north bound on Sabo Rd from the car wash when the suspect stopped, shot at the Deputy, and continued to flee the scene into some nearby apartments where the Deputy lost sight of the suspect. ARRESTED: Suspect arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery (Elderly or Disabled)
The suspect, Courtney Jones, 28, is charged with Aggravated Robbery -Elderly or Disabled in the 178th State District Court. Courtney Jones, 28 booking photo is attached to this release.
The complainant got off the Metro rail and was approached by the suspect. The suspect began speaking to the complainant, later an altercation occurred causing the complainant to fall on the ground, inflicting pain. The suspect took the complainants wallet and left the scene towards an unknown area.
On 06/30/2026 Robbery Detectives sent out an “attempt to identify” bulletin, and on 07/06/2026 a Houston Police Commander and Lieutenant observed Courtney Jones, 28, walking on a public street and recognized him.
Courtney Jones, 28, was placed under arrest and transported to the Harris County jail and booked on the Aggravated Robbery – Elderly or Disabled warrant.

The suspects were seen parking in front of the business and exiting a light-colored vehicle bearing stolen plates. The complainant was approaching the front door of the business to lock up for the evening when three suspects, wearing all black clothing and facemasks, ran towards the door and forced the complainant back behind the counter. The suspects were seen brandishing firearms and taking several items, including a safe. The suspects then exited the building, entered the light-colored vehicle, and left the scene towards an unknow location.
