UPDATE: Suspect Wanted in Two Separate Robberies

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public's assistance in locating Hector Bran Tapia, who is currently wanted for two separate aggravated robberies with a deadly weapon.

On Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 8:10 pm, the complainant was meeting up with a friend and had just parked his vehicle at the Northpoint Square Apartments, located at 220 Northpoint Drive, in Houston, Texas. The complainant stated that as he was walking to the apartment, he was approached by Hector Tapia, who assaulted him by striking him with a handgun and then took his property, including his vehicle.

On Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:30 am, the complainant met up with Hector Tapia after placing an ad on Facebook and agreed to meet at the Carrabba’s parking lot, located at 10680 West IH 10, in Houston, Texas.

The complainant was showing Hector Tapia the rifle in his vehicle, at which time Hector Tapia quickly exited the complainants vehicle with the rifle and got into the backseat of a black SUV. The complainant then began to follow the suspect vehicle, at which time Hector Tapia began shooting a weapon at the complainant’s vehicle as he attempted to follow him. The complainant quickly stopped chasing the suspect and then notified the police.

Detectives with the Houston Police Robbery Division filed two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon on Hector Tapia through the Harris County District Attorney’s office. The charge information is as follows:
