Offer-Up Seller Gets Shot During Deal Gone Bad

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division need the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, the complainant had placed an iPhone 11 for sale on the Offer-Up app and had arranged to meet with an unknown male at the Subway, located at 6888 Gulf Freeway, in Houston, Texas. The complainant and unknown male met up inside the Subway and the complainant showed him the cell phone. The male then turned to run out of the business with the phone, but the complainant grabbed him and there was a physical altercation over possession of the cell phone. During the struggle, the front door to the business was knocked off the hinges and fell on the sidewalk as they continued to fight. The suspect then pulled out a pistol and shot the complainant one time in the abdomen and then fled the location with the stolen IPhone. Houston PD #1249187-19

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male, 20 to 25 years old, 6’1 to 6’2, 150 to 160 pounds, red Adidas jogging suit and green sandals. Tattoo on his neck.
