Suspect Still Sought in ATM Robbery and Tragic Shooting

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division are still in need of the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for an aggravated robbery.

On Monday, February 14, 2022 at around 9:50 pm, the complainants were depositing money into an ATM while in their vehicle at the 2900 block of the Woodridge, in Houston, Texas. The complainant stated that an unknown male suddenly appeared while pointing a handgun at her and demanded the money from her bank account. The complainant then gave the suspect her wallet and cash. The suspect then fled the location on foot and jumped over a fence at a business at the 200 block of Winkler (possibly running towards a nearby apartment complex). Houston PD #203259-22

Note: After the robbery, the complainant exited his vehicle, heard gunshots and believed he was being shot at, so he fired at what he thought was the suspect's vehicle. That vehicle turned out to be a family driving by with their 9-year-old child, who was struck and killed by the gunfire. The suspect who started the chain of events that lead to the tragic death of the 9-year-old is still being sought.

Note: During the robbery, the suspect holds the handgun in his left hand and as he jumps over the fence, so it is possible that he is left-handed.

Suspect description: Black male, 6’0, wore a ski mask, and dark clothing.
