Suspect Turns Shoplifting into Robbery by Assaulting Employee while Fleeing

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for a shoplifting turned robbery by force.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, at around 10:45 am, an unknown male entered a grocery store, located at the 5400 block of South Rice Avenue, in Houston, Texas. The male walked around the store and concealed some of the merchandise in his backpack. An employee witnessed the suspect shoplifting and confronted him as he was leaving with the stolen items. The suspect then pushed the employee and fled the location in an unknown direction. Houston PD # 1507738-25

Suspect descriptions: White male, 20 to 30 years old, around 6’0, 170 pounds, full beard, black shirt and black pants.
