ARRESTED: Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested for Robbery - Threats , stemming from an incident that occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, at around 8:00 P.M., at the 8200 block of Southwest Fwy, in Houston, Texas.

According to the complainant, who is an employee at the hotel, A male suspect entered the location, initially looking around, before going behind the counter of the hotel, making verbal threats, and demanding money from the register. The suspect then leaves the location on foot, before entering a 4-door small vehicle nearby.
A Houston Police Robbery Detective conducted a follow up investigation and established Derrick Gilbert, 53, as a possible suspect. Derrick Gilbert, 53 was then identified charges of Robbery-threats were filed on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Officers with the Houston Police Department, in coordination with a Detective assigned to the ATF Task Force, received a Crime Stoppers tip that contributed to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect. Officers executed the warrant at the Harmony House and took the suspect into custody without incident..
Derrick Gilbert, 53, was then transported to the Harris County jail and booked on the Robbery warrant.
