The Houston Police Department’s Robbery
Division needs the public's assistance in locating Stevan McCray, who is
currently wanted for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated
kidnapping.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, the
complainant was driving westbound on Crane Street when he was flagged down by
three unknown black females. The females asked him for a ride, at which time he
refused. One of the females then pulled out a handgun and pointed it to his
face and demanded that he open the door. The females then got into vehicle with
the complainant and drove to a hotel on 59 near Cavalcade. At the hotel, they
were joined by three additional males who emptied the complainant’s pockets and
took his credit cards and demanded his pin numbers. With all the suspects in
the vehicle, they then took the complainant to a gas station and tested the
cards with the pin numbers. They then drove to Metro PCS at Tidwell and Mesa
where they purchased several iPhones with the complainant’s credit cards.
During the incident, the complainant remained in then vehicle with some of the
suspects, who kept him held at gunpoint.
After purchasing the phones, they then drove
back to a hotel, where the male suspects dropped the females off. Shortly after
leaving the hotel, the complainant attempted to take the gun away from one of the
suspects. While doing so, the complainant was shot in the leg and hit in the
head with the gun. The suspects then drove down a dirt road and exited the
vehicle. All three suspects then walked away from the vehicle with the
complainant still inside. As they were leaving, one of the suspects turned
around and fired three rounds towards the complainant, narrowly missing him.
As a result of the investigation, Detectives
with the Houston Police Robbery Division developed Stevan McCray (17), Bernard
Golden (19), Zatoria Moore (20) and Kristy Grant (18) as suspects in the case
and charged them with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated
kidnapping. Four of the suspects have charged and three are in custody except
for Stevan McCray, who is a fugitive from justice.
Stevan McCray has been identified by the
complainant as the male who was in possession of the weapon and who shot the complainant
during the incident. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Stevan McCray, you are
urged to call Crime Stoppers or the local police department with his location.
