Robbery Suspect Forces Victim to Cash Fake Check

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division need the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for a robbery by threat.

On Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 6:00 pm, the complainant was withdrawing money from the ATM outside of the Wells Fargo bank, located at 8901 Bissonnet, in Houston, Texas. The complainant stated that she was approached by an unknown male, who told her that he had a check for $400 and needed it to be cashed. The male then told the complainant to deposit the check into her account and then to give him the cash. The complainant stated that she did not want to, at which time the suspect used his size to intimidate her and told her that she was going to do it. The complainant stated that in fear of getting hurt, she deposited the check and when the $400 cash was withdrawn, the male grabbed the money from the machine. The complainant stated that she was notified a few days later that the check was fake. Houston PD #269454-20

Suspect description: Black male, 30’s, heavy set, red jacket, white shirt and red pants.
