Robbery Suspect Shoots Cooperative Store Clerk in Chest

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for an aggravated robbery.

On Friday, December 16, 2022 at around 10:40 pm, an unknown male entered a convenience store, located at the 6900 block of Griggs, in Houston, Texas. The male walked up to the clerk, who was cleaning the floors, and pointed a gun at him while demanding money. The clerk walked around the enclosed counter and complied with the suspect, opening the cash drawers and then removing the money. Once the suspect had the cash, he pointed his gun at the clerk’s chest and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. The suspect then racked the slide, which engaged a live round into the chamber, pointed the gun at the clerk’s chest again, and pulled the trigger, striking the clerk in the chest. The suspect casually walked out of the store and then walked across the street to an unknown location. Houston PD #1696226-22

The store clerk is expected to survive his injuries.

Suspect description: Black male, 6’0 to 6’2, and black jacket, black pants and black mask. Used a light-colored backpack.
