Suspect Shoots Hotel Clerk during Aggravated Robbery

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for an aggravated robbery. 

On Sunday, October 1, 2023 at around 8:00 pm, an unknown male entered a hotel lobby, located at the 2900 block of W. Sam Houston Parkway S., in Houston, Texas. The male first acted like a customer and waited in the lobby until it was cleared of people. The male then pulled out a handgun, jumped over the counter, and demanded the money from the cash drawer. A brief struggle over the gun ensued between the hotel clerk and the suspect. During the struggle, the suspect attempted to shoot the clerk in head, but his gun malfunction. The suspect was then able to fix the malfunction in the gun and shot the hotel clerk, striking him in the stomach. The suspect removed the cash from behind the counter and fled the location in an unknown direction. Houston PD #1410171-23 

Suspect description: Black male, 20 to 30 years old, 5’9 to 6’3, around 150 pounds, multicolored jacket with pullover, red pants and had a backpack.
