Employee Assaulted as Suspect Attempts to Flee from Shoplifting

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for a shoplifting turned aggravated robbery. 

On Friday, August 16, 2024 at around 6:30 pm, an unknown male entered a shoe store, located at the 5300 block of W. 34th, in Houston, Texas. The male removed his shoes, placed a new pair of shoes on, and then walked out of the store without paying for them. As the suspect walked out of the store, he was confronted by an employee. The suspect exposed himself and then attempted to get a knife from his backpack. The employee attempted to detain the suspect and was physically assaulted before the suspect was able flee on a bicycle. Houston PD #1168989-24. 

Suspect description: Black male, medium build, wearing an Astros T-shirt, blue jeans, blue shoes, and wore sunglasses.
