The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division needs the public's assistance identifying the suspects responsible for an aggravated robbery (elderly).
On Friday, July 12, 2024 at around 5:00 pm, an 80-year-old female complainant walked into a convenience store at the 2100 block of Fannin, in Houston, Texas. The complainant was holding an envelope containing a large sum of cash so she could buy crypto currency using a crypto kiosk. While in the store, two unknown males approached the complainant with her back towards them. One of the males grabbed the envelope that the complainant was holding and then fled the location with the second suspect in a black colored vehicle. Houston PD #1000514-24
In the days leading to the incident, the complainant had received a phone call from a female scammer, who talked the elderly complainant into making numerous deposits into a Bitcoin kiosk.
Suspect description: Black male, 30 to 40 years old, dark
colored t-shirt and red shorts
Suspect #2: Black male, white shirt, gray Nike shorts and
blue and white shoes.
