The suspect, Jose Maria Torres, 29, is charged with aggravated robbery in the 496th State District Court. Jose Torres’s most recent booking photo is attached in this release.
According to the complainant, an unknown male entered a convenience store at the 1300 block of Federal, in Houston, Texas. The male attempted to pull his handgun from his waistband, causing it to fall into his pants, which resulted in him falling to the ground. Once the suspect retrieved the handgun, he approached the store clerk, who was standing behind an enclosed counter and demanded the money from the cash register. The store clerk then backed away, so the suspect fired a round in the store, walked to the cooler and removed a case of beer, and fled the location, possibly in a white truck. Houston PD # 53778-25
