Newly released video of purse snatching suspects at the Baybrook Mall


Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division need the public's assistance identifying the suspects responsible for a series of theft from persons (purse snatchings).

On February 16th 2019 at 8:30 pm, the complainant was walking through the Macy's parking lot, located at 500 Baybrook Mall, while on a video chat with a family member. The complainant stated that she saw someone fighting near the entrance of the mall but thought they were friends and just playing around. She continued walking to her vehicle on facetime when she was approached by two unknown males. The complainant stated that the males appeared to be about 20 to 25 years of age. She states that one of the suspects came up behind her and grabbed her phone out of her hand and ran with the other suspect into a dark colored older model Chevy Tahoe. HPD case #207725-19

On February 16th 2019 at 8:40 pm, the complainant and her mother were walking through the Macy's parking lot at the Baybrook Mall to their vehicle. The complainant stated they got to their vehicle when she felt an unknown male grab her phone out of her hand. The complainant stated that the suspect was a black male in between the ages of 20 and 25 years of age. She stated the suspect then ran towards a dark colored Chevy Tahoe and got in the passenger side of the vehicle and drove away. HPD case #207846-19

On February 16th 2019 at 9:10 pm, the complainant was dropped off at the one of the entrances of the Baybrook Mall while her friend went and parked the vehicle. The complainant stated the she sat down at one of the benches while waiting on her friend when she noticed two males approaching her. The complainant stated that the males appeared to be in between the ages of 20 and 25 years old. She states that one of them had a short haircut and the second suspect had longer hair in a dreadlock hairstyle. She stated she was approached by the first suspect while the second suspect walked away from her direction. She stated that the first suspect quickly grabbed her purse with her phone inside of it. The complainant stated that she struggled with the suspect and while doing so, she grabbed the back of his head and pulled some of his hair out. The complainant stated that the suspect’s hair was stuck underneath her pinky finger nail. Both suspects then ran towards a dark colored, older model Chevy Tahoe and drove away. HPD case #207845-19
