Suspect Arrested and Charged After Media Release

On January 4, 2024, The Houston Police Robbery Division released a video (and flyer to HPD patrol stations) of an unknown suspect who stole money from a 71-year-old female victim at a sandwich shop on October 21, 2023, at the 13800 block of S. Post Oak.

In the release, the elderly complainant stated that an unknown female approached her, told her that she didn’t have any money, and asked her if she could buy her a sandwich. The victim agreed and while they were waiting for the sandwich to be made, the suspect reached into the complainant’s purse, forcibly removed her money, and fled the location on foot. Shortly after the release by the Houston Police Robbery Division, an Officer with the Southwest Patrol Crime Suppression Unit recognized Aisha Baker, 45, as the unknown suspect and relayed the information to the Detective assigned to the case. The suspect was then identified in a photo array and charges of aggravated robbery of an elderly where then filed through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office on Aisha Shenice Baker. Baker was arrested on January 18 and booked into the Harris County jail.
